Jennifer Longtin is a certified Spiritual Director, Reiki Master, and Death Doula.
Jennifer is a caring person with experience helping people through hard decisions and traumatic circumstances. She began her career as a theater director, passionate about the use of theater to transform peoples experiences of reality. She studied genocide, the darkest parts of the human mind, and the often fraught area of international relations, during her masters degree. Jennifer spent 10 years as a defense attorney specializing in mental health related cases, including insanity and competency. Although she has (mostly) left law behind, she brings all of her experiences to her Spiritual Direction, Death Doula companionship, and ritual crafting. Jennifer trained through Benet Hill’s International Spiritual Direction program, and through The Deathwives, a Denver based death education program. Jennifer is also a Reiki master and has been working with energy and healing for many years. Jennifer‘s understanding of the many levels of the human experience has made her someone who is uniquely suited to help others through the crossroads and transitions of life. Jennifer is a dedicated listener and cares deeply about the people she works with. She is an advocate for family lead death care, green burial options, and in-home funerals. Jennifer is also a celebrant and has designed and performed both child blessing ceremonies and weddings. Jennifer is dedicated to helping those using Colorado’s medical aid and dying program to create the sacred last day they deserve. She performs death Doula work for both humans and pets, and can help families design their beloved companion’s euthanasia at home in a way that helps children understand death without being traumatized by it. Jennifer is passionate about helping people to connect with the energy of creation as they move through all the stages of their lives.
What is a Death Doula?
Clear your energy for the journey with Reiki
Reiki is a practice of healing through energy, the creation energy at the root of all things. During Reiki, Jen will work to make sure that your energy, or chi, is aligned through your spine, the main channel of energy in the body. As a Reiki Master, Jen has been initiated into reiki symbols and practices, allowing her to channel the creation energy of the universe, into you, where it will act to your own highest and best good. Sometimes you have a goal or a specific concern that leads you to reiki; however, it is also a great way to maintain your own energy field on a regular basis, especially if you work in a profession with a high rate of vicarious trauma. Reiki sessions are around one hour, and all you have to do is lay back and relax. Jen is available to do in person reiki at the Littleton East Community Center, virtually, or as an add-on to either spiritual direction or death doula consulting sessions.
